The Financial Planning Tune-Up

The Financial Tune-Up is an intensive financial planning session designed to put your personal finances on track for retirement and answer up to three (3) questions you may have regarding personal financial planning. It includes one 2.5 hour meeting and email and phone support for 30 days on topics discussed during our meeting. The Financial Tune-Up is a review of your financial progress toward your goals and not a comprehensive financial plan.

Tune-Up Topics Often Include:

  • Am I saving enough to retire?

  • What are the best retirement-savings vehicles for me?

  • Are my investments structured according to my goals, risk profile, time horizon, and tax situation?

  • How can I reduce my investment risk, yet provide the stable income I need?

  • How can I develop a spending or investment draw down plan to help me achieve my goals?

  • Will I need to go back to work to support my current spending? If not how can I cut my expenses?

  • How can I best recover the loses in my retirement savings plans?

How the Financial Planning Tune-Up Works

Please send the following information and documents at least 7 days prior to your meeting:

  • Your last tax return with W-2s and year-to-date pay slip

  • A completed data sheet that lists all assets and liabilities and recent copy of your investment, pension & Social Security statements

  • I will review your information & prepare a written report with preliminary recommendations.

Financial Planning Tune-Up Appointment

We will discuss your three (3) most critical questions, making sure your questions are fully answered during the 2.5 hour session. You will receive written recommendations that include the steps you need to take to implement those recommendations. An additional hour will be left open at the end of the appointment (or another meeting can be scheduled) to discuss more comprehensive financial planning or investment management if you need further assistance.

Implementation

Implementation is very important to achieving your financial goals. You may call or email me for 30 days following your appointment with questions you may have.

Fee

The Financial Tune-Up Fee is $750*. If you choose to become an investment management client, I will credit the Financial Tune-Up fee paid, toward asset management fees.

*Fees may be tax deductible. Investment fees and expenses are classified as “miscellaneous itemized deductions” on Schedule A and may be deductible to the extent that they exceed 2% of adjusted gross income (AGI).

Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), Fiduciary Investment Advice

My twenty-seven years of experience and disciplined investment process can guide you through turbulent markets.

Successful investing demands thorough knowledge of the economy, markets and portfolio theory.  Your investment approach should be long-term and consider your financial means and goals.  Our goal is help you earn consistent, positive returns with less volatility than the popular market indexes.  Fred can help you put together a  portfolio of no-load mutual funds tailored to your goals and objectives.  You will receive the benefit of his continuing study of changing economic conditions, securities markets and other investments issues.  I will meet with you for periodic reviews to make sure you receive personalized and appropriate guidance.

"Most advisor's mandate is to track indexes.  So if the index that (s)he follows is down 40% and your accounts are down "only" 35% (s)he believes that you win.  My goal is to beat the index and to do it with much less risk by attempting to limit declines."--Fred Bridge, CFP

I don’t charge for the initial, or continuing investments.  We don’t accept commissions or fees from third parties-- we are fiduciaries and act solely as your independent investment advisor. You will need to set up an account at a discount brokerage firm to serve as custodian of your investments. Where possible, I recommend TD Ameritrade Institutional, Inc.  You pay all investment checks to your custodian who will in turn send you periodic statements.  I can assist you with setting up and custodian-to-custodian transfer of your accounts.

The fee for investment management is based on total invested assets.  Please ask for Fred's disclosure brochure (ADV PartII).
